♥♥♥♥♥ HOPE FOR KELLI ♥♥♥♥♥
On Sunday, May 24th, 2009, Kelli Dickman, a vibrant 18 year old that played soccer, enjoyed time with her friends, loved shopping and was about to graduate from Colerain High School, suffered a tragic accident while at a pool party with friends. Instantly she lost all sensation and control of her arms and legs. She was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati and underwent a six hour surgery to stabilize her spine. She is a quadriplegic and currently confined to a wheelchair .
Kelli received treatment for 9 days in the ICU at the University Hospital . She was then flown to a spinal rehab facility in Atlanta , Georgia . Kelli was released from this facility on July 29th. At home now, she will have ongoing physical and occupational therapy. Kelli is also undergoing counseling as part of her treatment regimen.
Her mother, Jenny Dickman, is a retired police officer from the City of Cincinnati ; her step-father is Firefighter Rob Haynes with the Evendale Fire Department. This has been an overwhelming period of time for the family. Donations are being sought to help pay for the necessary changes that will be required of the family’s home to accommodate and care for Kelli. The funds will also be used to help her mother and step-father to pay for accommodations that were required during her stay in Atlanta . Donations are being accepted at any 5/3rd Bank branch for the Kelli Dickman Benefit Account.
